Does the chip need to be sealed before being placed in the Semsong Dry cabinet?

IC, BGA, QFP and other types of integrated circuit chips are very common components in electronic products. These components belong to the category of MSD (hazardous moisture-sensitive components). The electronic moisture-proof cabinet creates a low-humidity environment by means of generating an almost moisture-free environment inside the cabinet, in order to protect the stored chips from moisture. 

At this point, some colleagues may have questions: Vacuum sealing is beneficial for moisture prevention. Then, does the chip need to be sealed before being placed in the moisture-proof cabinet? 

In fact, there is no need to vacuum-seal the chips placed in XinSong Electronics' moisture-proof cabinet. The prerequisite for vacuum packaging is that the chips need to be dried first. In an environment without moisture absorption, if the chips have already become damp, vacuuming may prevent moisture from entering again. However, the moisture inside the chips will cause oxidation of the internal metals, and the moisture on the surface of the chips will further penetrate into the chips. In this case, the vacuum effect is not good at all. 

By placing the damp chips into the electronic moisture-proof cabinet or drying cabinet, on the one hand, it will stop the chips from getting damp any further. On the other hand, since the chips are exposed to a low-humidity environment, the moisture on their surfaces will gradually release into the cabinet over time without affecting the chips. Moreover, when the damp chips are placed in the ultra-low-humidity environment of the electronic moisture-proof cabinet, the moisture inside the chips will gradually be expelled from the gaps and gradually dry out the chips. 



On the contrary, if the chip is sealed before being placed in the electronic moisture-proof cabinet, at this point, the chip is completely isolated from the low-humidity environment of the electronic moisture-proof cabinet. At this time, the significance of the electronic moisture-proof cabinet for the chip is zero. Instead, due to the continuous influence of the undried chip within the sealed packaging bag, it means time-consuming and no effect! 

The use of electronic moisture-proof cabinets also requires certain techniques. Firstly, in factories where doors are frequently opened and closed, it is advisable to choose moisture-proof cabinets with fast and extremely low-humidity performance. Secondly, the time for taking materials and the time for opening and closing the cabinet should ideally be standardized. 


From the above introduction, it can be known that the chip does not need to be sealed before being placed in the electronic moisture-proof cabinet.
